Search stepped up for missing horse

AN air search and dog tracking sessions have failed to locate missing racehorse Turnstone which disappeared from a St Martin field 11 days ago.
Trainer Gordon Shenkin said that although chances of finding Turnstone alive now are remote, the search for the three-year-old bay gelding – which has been intensive – will continue.
‘Thanks to a friend who has a private plane and support from Air Traffic Control at the Airport, we have flown over St Catherine’s, Bouley Bay and La Pulente and looked over the land and gulleys but saw nothing,’ he said.
Assistance with this flight came from staff at the Planning Department who provided aerial maps for the team’s search.
Help in covering more enclosed areas of woodland came from Jarmila Pallot, from K9 Security, whose highly trained dog has failed to locate Turnstone after being given the scent of the horse’s collar.
The missing horse has prompted many members of the public to contact Mr Shenkin with offers to help with the search.
