GOLF:Royal Jersey won the Hampshire 7-a-side knock-out title yesterday at Waterlooville.
The Grouville-based club defeated Southsea 4-3 in the morning semi-final before going on to beat the home club by the same score in the afternoon final.
Channel Islands champion Gavin O’Neil won both his matches while every member of the Royal team won a match on the day.

FOOTBALL: St Brelade’s Under-18s were beaten 6-1 by their Stade Rennais couterparts in France on Saturday.

MOTORSPORT: Winners from the Jersey Motor Cycle and Light Car Club’s motorcycle trial at La Ferme yesterday were: Juniors – Class D: Richard Pallot; Class C: Richard Vibert; Class B: Adam Le Cheminant.
Adult – Class C: Jon Noel; Class B: Richard Blandin; Class B+: Terry Gibaut; Class A: Ricky Morin.
HOCKEY: OV Victims hammered Victoriana 17-2 in their Minor League clash on Friday.
Matt Smith led the Victims’ goalscorers with six while Tom Millar netted five.
In the Minor League Division II match, also on Friday, Crusaders beat Jersey Ladies 4-1.
CYCLING: Junior Chris Seviour achieved his first senior victory of the season winning Caesarean Cycling Club’s five-mile time-trial from La Pulente on Saturday morning.
Seviour completed the course in 13 minutes and three seconds pushing veteran Paul Lipscombe, of Vélo Sport Jersey, into second place by five seconds.
BOWLS: Frank Bisson, Ken Baudains and new members Brian and Barbara Barry won the Jersey Indoor Bowling Association’s President’s Day match on Saturday afternoon at Grainville.
Yesterday, at the same venue, Gaynor Thomas retained the Nelson Fauvel Two Bowl Pairs title.
CYCLING: Noel Hayden, Dave Mayman and Mike Harris took the first three places respectively in the Caesarean Cycling Club’s Downhill championship held at La Saie quarry in St John yesterday.
GOLF: La Moye’s Andy Boxall and Royal Jersey’s Gary Denton won the Jersey Golf Union’s 36-hole foursomes championship yesterday, one-up against La Moye pair Bart McCarthy and Charlie Smith at La Moye.
Royal Jersey duo Terry Smith and Gyles Robin won the handicap section 4 and 2 against Royal Jersey’s Mike Street and La Moye’s Mark Baron.
