JERSEY Wanderers and Sporting Academics maintained their 100 per cent records in under-18 Division I on Sunday morning.
Victories for the pair moved them on to nine points each, Wanderers winning 4-1 against hosts St John and the Academics victorious at St Saviour 4-3 against St Paul’s.
Wanderers head the table on goal-difference after two goals from Scott Slicer and singles by Ollie Thompson and David Kenyon.
The Accies came from a goal down to beat St Paul’s, the Saints having taken the lead with a fine goal from Callum Black and then they were denied a last-gasp equaliser when Accies’ Jamie Kyle made a timely tackle.
Kieran Norman and Brett Willoughby also notched for St Paul’s with 16-year-old Paul Dingle hitting a hat-trick for Accies whose other goal was an own goal.
Accies manager Bob Doran said: ‘We’ve taken a few hidings in previous years but now the team has come of age.
We’ve found a jewell in Paul Dingle, he scored a brilliant hat-trick to move on to eight goals in three games.
‘They were really good finishes too – one from close range, a sidefoot volley from 20 yards and a powerful shot from 25 yards.
‘St Paul’s played their part too, it was a great game of football.’ St Peter’s Ryan Le Cornu followed up his mid-week hat-trick in a friendly for Jersey’s under-18s by going one better to hit all of the Saints’ goals in a 4-2 win at La Hague Manor against First Tower.
The hosts, who led 1-0 at the break, registered through Michael Le Turgeon and Adam Lester.
St Martin/SCF slipped from top place to bottom spot in Division II after they were beaten 5-4 by Grouville at Le Boulivot.
The hosts got off to a flying start with a goal inside 20 seconds.
Luke Ollivier went on to help himself to four goals for the victors with Sammy Wright getting the other.
David Streets hit a hat-trick and Daniel Romeril a single for St Martin/SCF.
St Ouen and St Clement shared six goals at St Ouen.
Ashley Turner and Jason dos Santos hit hat-tricks for St Ouen and St Clement respectively, dos Santos on his début.
Trinity remain the only unbeaten team in the Under-14 division following their late winner in a 2-1 home success against previously undefeated Jersey Wanderers.
Adrian Huet and Aaron Young netted for Trinity and Kamen Nafkha for Wanderers.
First Tower joined Wanderers in joint second place after a brace from Kilian Dorey took Tower to a 2-1 win at St Clement.
Grant Johnson replied.
Scott Welsh and Josh Coudrais hit St Peter’s consolations in a 6-2 defeat by St Paul’s at St Saviour.
George Houze (two), Oliver de la Cour, Nick Wildman, Blake Derbyshire and Harrison Jukes were on target for St Paul’s.
James McKenna and Josh Warder bagged Grouville’s goals in a 2-0 win at Rozel Rovers.
St John also notched twice, through Zak Walker and Mark Goddard, for a 2-1 success at St Brelade.
Rob Connor replied.
Both under-12 Blue group matches resulted in 5-1 wins for St John and Rozel Rovers against St Clement B and St Ouen respectively.
Hugo Powell (three) and Richard Streets (two) scored for St John while there were singles for St Clement B’s Callum Smith and St Ouen’s Tom Anderson.
Two goals by Jamie Mourant and one from Brett Goodfellow helped Jersey Wanderers defeat First Tower 3-1 in the Red Group.
Tower replied through Charlie Petulla.
St Clement A and St Paul’s A drew three-all, Ryan Campos, Corey Romeril and Liam Jesson scoring for the former and John Tardivel, Daniel Tostevin and Tom Turquet for the latter.
