He was awarded the MBE in 1981 and, shortly afterwards, had a road named after him by a local council.

Director Now with the Football Association as their first ever Director of Football Development, his role includes aiming to develop football skills at all levels.

His new FA job meant he had to leave his position as non-executive director at West Ham.

JFA County secretary Gill Morgan said: ‘We are delighted Sir Trevor will be attending our function, I know he is impressed with the development of football in Jersey and although he will be on a short visit he is hoping to visit a couple of clubs and meet with Brian Oliver, our football development officer.

‘Sir Trevor is Director of Football Development for the Football Association and since coming into the post he has made a great effort to visit grass roots football around the country.

This ties in with his visit to Jersey and we are delighted that it coincides with our Centenary dinner.’ Other guests include the Bailiff Sir Philip Bailhache and Commissioner of the Royal Court, Francis Hamon who will also speak.
