A 63-YEAR-OLD taxi driver has woken from a coma two weeks after being beaten up by a gang of youths on a busy weekday morning.

It was not until the man woke last Thursday that either the police or the family were made aware of the assault.

He informed nurses that he had been attacked a fortnight previously by five men in broad daylight on a busy stretch of road.

The police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the attack, which happened at 10 am on Thursday 22 September in St Aubin’s Road near First Tower.
