Trinity homes plan ‘is creeping urbanisation’

Tuesday 18th October 2005, 12:00AM BST.

A TRINITY resident wants Planning to put the countryside first tomorrow when they consider an application for four new houses in Route du Boulay.

While John Mallet is unhappy to see more than half the trees at La Pepinière and Le Petit Jardin felled to make way for the new development, which also includes converting an existing house into two units, his overriding concern is the ‘creeping urbanisation’ of the rural parishes.

‘It is a total disgrace and totally out of character for the countryside,’ he said.

‘It is being done for the profit motif and has nothing to do with, or bearing on, the countryside whatsoever.’ Purple Heather Ltd want to develop the garden and former garden nursery behind Mr Mallet’s home.

In response to neighbours’ concerns, architects Dyson and Buesnel have amended the plans and one house has been lost from the original application.

But Mr Mallet is still not a happy man.
