Roseville Street rape case: Man is charged

A MAN has been charged with the rape of a 19-year-old woman in Roseville Street in the early hours of Monday.

Clark Taljaard (30) was remanded in custody last night and was due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court at 10 o’clock this morning.

The police are still appealing for anyone in the area of Roseville Street at around 3.30 am on Monday to contact them.

They are examining a large volume of CCTV footage and that it is clear that potential witnesses were in the area shortly before the alleged attack.
