Party to raise cash for Pakistan
Friday 21st October 2005, 12:00AM BST.
ISLANDERS are being invited to dress up and raise money for the people affected by the South Asia earthquake at a Halloween party next week.
The party, in aid of Jersey Side By Side’s Earthquake Appeal, will take place at L’Auberge du Nord next Saturday and is being organised by graphic designer Nathan Holmes and his girlfriend Allison.
Nathan said: ‘We saw the reports on television and were thinking about the other disasters that have happened recently, including the tsunami and the hurricane in New Orleans.
We wanted to do something to help and to see if we could raise some money to send over there.
‘We didn’t know what to do at first, but after thinking about it we came up with the Halloween party.
We thought the best way to raise money was to have a party.
It is the first time we have ever done anything like this and we have had a lot of help from Side By Side.
It has been great fun.’
