A PAINTING by Edmund Blampied attracted the top price at Bonhams auction on Monday, selling for more than £6,000.
‘Leave Some For Us’, an ink, watercolour and crayon depiction of a man eating a meal, watched avidly by a cat and a dog, was one of a number of submissions painted by the Jersey artist, who died in 1966.
However, George Dawes, senior valuer for Bonhams, said that the most interest was shown in another lot – two Sylvac models of dogs with an estimated selling price of £80 to £100.
