Hunt is on for taxi attackers
Wednesday 26th October 2005, 12:00AM BST.
TAXI driver Tony de la Haye (63), kicked in the groin last month in a vicious, unprovoked daylight attack, does not yet know whether he will walk again.
He remains in hospital after being in a two-week coma before he was able to alert anyone that the cause of his collapse was a nasty assault which has caused him pain and anguish.
This week Mr de la Haye was due to retire from taxi-driving after almost 40 years but his plans for spending part of each year in Portugal have been shattered by those whom he tried to help.
This week, the police are stepping up their hunt for those responsible for his traumatic experience.
