Fight on for Constable

CONSTABLES have a responsibility towards both the parish and the States Assembly, parishioners in St Brelade heard yesterday.
At a hustings for the position of Constable in the parish, candidates Mike Jackson and Steve Pallett said Constables should play an active role in the States as well as giving enough time to look after their parish.
The meeting was chaired by retiring Constable Max de la Haye and the assertions of his possible replacements came following a question from parishioner Chris Cook.
Mr Cook asked what level of support each of the candidates would give to the States.
