St Paul’s face Poole in Dorset
Friday 2nd December 2005, 12:00AM GMT.
ST PAUL’S face a difficult Dorset Cup tie away to Poole Borough on Saturday.
The Saints’ opponents won the Dorset Premier League and League Cup double last season although they are sitting fifth this time round with six wins three draws and four defeats in league games.
Saints manager Tony Hoyland said: ‘They look a very organised club, there is a lot about them on their club website and I see former Crystal Palace professional Shaun Brooks is now their manager.
‘I’m sure it will be a difficult game for us but we are now on the up again with two wins in our last three games, against Cobham Sports and Jersey Wanderers.
‘We are taking the strongest team available to us because of suspension and injury and hopefully we can get another good result.’ Forward Glen McKenna will join the squad from Portsmouth University while former Muratti midfielder Martin Cassidy is also in the Saints’ squad.
Cassidy, who has been out for a lengthy spell following a couple of knee operations, said: ‘I’m on the bench and I will be ready to go on and play if needed.
We have a fairly strong bench and that is good too.
‘It will be a tough game and if the manager is looking for some experience during it I am available as I’ve been working hard on my fitness in the gym recently.’
