Jersey Youth bid for another semi-final spot
Saturday 3rd December 2005, 12:00AM GMT.
WEATHER permitting, Jersey RFC Youth will travel to face New Milton in the quarter-finals of the Hampshire U18 Cup tomorrow.
New Milton defeated Andover 31-3 in the previous round, but Jersey have trained well of late and are hopeful of making the semi-final once again.
They came desperately close to reaching the county final last year, only losing to a late drop goal at home to eventual winners Portsmouth.ๆ Jersey make three changes from the excellent 27-14 home victory over Winchester in the last round, with Myles Landick returning at prop, Greg Banner joining the back row and Tom Faulkner slotting in with the threequarters.
Should Jersey return with a victory they will face an away semi-final against the winners of Guernsey RFC v Gosport and Fareham.
Jersey squad: Jean-Paul King, Craig Watts, Myles Landick, Phil Mourant, Alex Whitehead, Greg Banner, Carl Gavey, Wayne Boschat, Sam Marks, John Felton, Tom Le Sauter, Adam Speight, Dan Lezala, Tom Faulkner, Nick Kearns, Ollie Montgomery, Luke Fisher, David Carpenter, Craig McEwan, Oliver de la Cloche, Alex King, Henry Frost, Matt Carré and Harry Bertram.
Head coach Bob Shambrook, Nick Durbano (forwards), Mick Mayo (backs) accompany the squad.
The team is managed by Jane Baines and Mark Fisher.
The Jersey RFC Academy are supported by Moore Management.
