OLD VICTORIANS moved level with Abbey National at the top of Division I of the Natwest Indoor Cricket league after a comprehensive victory over Centurions on Monday evening at Fort Regent.

Jon Giles with three wickets for just ten runs and Ward Jenner, 2 for 13, skittled out Centurions for just 25 in six overs.

OVs took just two overs to make it three wins out of three so far this season.

None of the top teams were in action in Division II, so Springfield’s second victory of the season moved them into joint second.

Naveed Rafique (37), Peter Canham (21) and Greg Sykes (21) took Springfield to 105 for 5.

Kevin English (28) and Andy Bouchard (25) put Walkovers in a strong position to claim their first victory of the season and they only required six runs to win off the final over, but Rafique restricted them to just two runs to secure victory for his side.

Sykes picked up 2 for 25.

Guided Barclays did pick up their first points as they defeated Phoenix Knights by 42 runs.

Andy Hicks (43) and Robin Pitcher (27 not out) guided Barclays to 110 for 5.

Phoenix Knights were shot out for 68 in reply, Andy Brown hitting 34.
