Economic focus is put on e-commerce

THE Economic Development Department are planning to appoint an officer dedicated to e-commerce.
And the newly appointed Economic Development Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf, is about to review an e-commerce strategy that will set the scene for the future.
Senator Ozouf said that several years ago, when he was on the former Industries Committee, he had led the e-commerce sub-committee.
‘Things are a little different from five or six years ago, when people were saying that e-commerce would be the fourth pillar of the economy, but I absolutely understand that it is a vital part of mainstream business,’ he said.
