Condor increases capacity
Wednesday 14th December 2005, 12:00AM GMT.
CONDOR Ferries has increased capacity to try to alleviate problems faced by Christmas and New Year travellers to France following the cancellation of Emeraude services until the end of February next year.
A top-level meeting was held yesterday between Chief Minister Frank Walker, Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf and senior Condor managers to help find a way forward for the travelling public.
As a result Condor has said it will not put up fares until the end of February next year at least.
Meanwhile, a meeting has been scheduled for Friday between Senator Ozouf, senior management of Emeraude and owners Sogestran in an effort to establish the company’s intentions beyond next February.
Condor’s Jersey manager, Steve Bailey, said they had been working hard to try to find solutions to travel problems over the Christmas period as a result of the Emeraude cancellations.
