Dealer left puppies in car ‘as hot as an oven’
Thursday 15th December 2005, 12:00AM GMT.
A DOG dealer left nine puppies in a car in Weymouth which was ‘as hot as an oven’ while he took a ferry to deliver six others to Jersey.
John Walsh (55) crammed the Jack Russells, Puppillions and a Bichon Frise in the back of his green Vauxhall Astra with no water in temperatures of up to 28นC (82นF).
He was found guilty yesterday of animal cruelty offences after a three-day Magistrates’ Court trial in Dorset.
Walsh had denied charges of causing unnecessary suffering to nine puppies, abandoning the animals in a way likely to cause unnecessary suffering and transporting them in a way likely to cause unnecessary suffering.
