Nursing crisis: Top manager resigns

THE health service executive at the heart of the nursing dispute is leaving her post.
It was confirmed today by Health Minister Stuart Syvret that the controversial director of nursing operations, Lynne Swiatczak, ‘has decided to seek employment elsewhere’.
The Senator said Mrs Swiatczak no longer felt happy to work in the organisation.
It is known that a new management restructure is to be implemented within Health and Social Services.
However, it is understood that hospital consultants were very critical of changes in nursing working practices implemented by Mrs Swiatczak and they raised a range of issues at a meeting with Senator Syvret at a meeting on Tuesday evening.
