Guernsey resident wins £250,000 on game show

A GUERNSEY woman has won £250,000 in the ITV game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
And it could have been even better for Elizabeth Northey – she had read the correct answer to the £500,000 question a few days before the quiz, which was broadcast on Saturday night.
‘I am a little disappointed that I didn’t remember it, but I am very happy indeed that I have £250,000,’ she said.
Mrs Northey honed her general knowledge skills at her St Sampson’s home before flying to London for the recording of the show.
While flicking through a quiz book, she read a list of the last 20 or so Astronomers Royal.
‘I read the answer the week before, but it didn’t stick.
When I came back home, within an hour I pulled out this book and realised that I had read it.’
