Hunt for Grimsby girl switches to the Island

THE parents of a missing 19-year-old Grimsby girl believe she could be in Jersey with her Portuguese-born boyfriend.
And they have made a plea for anyone who may have seen Joanne Maureen Marie Smith and 28-year-old Muzacz Carneiro Carlos Bruno dos Santos to get in touch.
Humberside Police are investigating and they also want anyone who may know where the couple are to contact them.
Joanne has been missing since she went to talk to her boyfriend at his workplace at a restaurant in Market Rasen on the evening of 12 December.
Joanne’s mum Kate Smith (38), said the situation was an ‘absolute nightmare’ for the family and ‘everyone is sick with worry’.
Mrs Smith said Mr dos Santos, known as Bruno, told the family he had worked in Jersey for about five or six years.
She believes it was at a hotel or restaurant at St Brelade’s Bay.
