THE newly unveiled West Park apartments building is being showered with public praise as a striking new Island landmark.

A controversial project from the start, the luxury Dandara project which has replaced the old Inn on the Park entertainment centre is even winning over the critics.

As the scaffolding has come down and the full extent of the 30s-style Art Deco apartments has been revealed, developers Dandara have been flooded with compliments.

And for a company which has fought against a negative PR image since arriving in the Island, West Park might prove to be their turning point.

Even the States Member who took the ‘Save the Pav’ campaign to the States is cooing about the replacement for the Inn on the Park.

‘It is absolutely magnificent,’ said Senator Terry Le Main.

‘I took the issue to the States and I lost and that argument is over.

But what they have put in its place will, in my opinion, win over people.

I bet it’s one of the best buildings built in the UK this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if it won prestigious awards and brought great publicity for the Island.

I should probably point out that I was on the Planning Committee that gave approval for it.’
