Well – was there anybody there…?

CLUBBERS can rest assured that the only spirits dwelling in Synergy nightclub are served in 25 ml measures with ice.
An in-depth ghost-hunt last night found that the spookiest thing about the bar and nightclub in Cattle Street is the CCTV camera’s propensity to set itself off every four or five minutes, and the almost constant police vans thundering past and shaking the whole building.
Paranormal Site Investigators (PSI) – self-proclaimed ‘open minded sceptics’ who aim to find natural phenomena that explain alleged paranormal experiences – staged an all-night vigil in the building last night after staff reported seeing ghostly figures and faces, glasses smashed and unexplained screams.
The UK team, fronted by Jerseywoman Nicky Sewell, were contacted by the manager after an appeal for possible hauntings launched in last week’s JEP.
They set up their monitoring equipment on the ground floor, first floor and kitchen of Synergy at around 8 o’clock last night and monitored the CCTV in hour-long vigils until 1 am.
Although no ghouls or demons manifested themselves, PSI will be investigating why the upstairs CCTV camera, which is stimulated by movement, sets itself off regularly despite the absence of anyone in the building.
