Jersey could get a new bank holiday

JERSEY could get an extra bank holiday to celebrate all things British.
On Saturday UK Chancellor Gordon Brown used his first major speech of the year to call for a national day to reclaim the Union Flag and the nation’s identity.
This morning Chief Minister Frank Walker welcomed the move and said the Island could follow.
He did warn, however, that any possible British Day must not interfere with the Liberation Day celebrations.
