Top awards for two of the Island’s restaurants

TWO Jersey restaurants have received awards in one of the world’s top food guides.

The Michelin Guide 2006 is published today and recognises just two Channel Island restaurants, both of which are in Jersey.

Bohemia Bar & Restaurant retains its one Michelin star, and the guide gives one of its five new ‘rising star’ awards to Ocean restaurant at the Atlantic Hotel in St Brelade.

The guide includes 5,135 establishments, with everything from pubs to luxury hotels, and of the 5,135 entries, only 121 have Michelin stars.

This year, a new rising star award has been introduced, which is said by Michelin to highlight establishments which have the potential to develop further and already have ‘an element of superior quality’.
