Stevenson seeks additional help
Wednesday 25th January 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
TOP athletics throwing prospect Jamie Stevenson is seeking a specialist Island-based coach to help him progress.
The Haute Vallée schoolboy (16), a triple national champion at U15 level (English Schools, the AAAs and Scottish nationals), is being mentored by John Hillier, a UK coach who visits the Island, but feels he needs to supplement that support with a local coach who can give him regular advice and help with his rotational technique in discus, shot and hammer.
Stevenson’s dad, Rob, is hoping that someone as yet unknown in the Island may come forward to help the strapping, talented youngster, who has already competed at senior level in the NatWest Island Games at both shot and discus.
If anyone can help, they can contact Rob Stevenson on 07797 799630 or 867925.
