Forts a hit for holiday lets
Thursday 26th January 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
FORTS and buildings which have been refurbished for holiday lets are already booked up for the summer.
English tourists have snapped up bookings at Elizabeth Castle apartments, Fort Lester in Bouley Bay, the Barge Aground on the Five Mile Road and the Corbière Radio Tower .
The Jersey Heritage Trust’s head of business development, Beth Lloyd, said that the sites – some of which are still being done up for the summer season – were mostly full, with 34 weeks of bookings in place already.
The majority of the bookings were from young English families, she said, and the trust were delighted with the early response.
