Backing for new law on disorder

POLICE could get new powers to crack down on disorderly behaviour and stalking.
The Council of Ministers have given their backing to the Criminal Disorderly Conduct and Harassment Law, which has been welcomed by Police Chief Graham Power.
He says there are already 70 per cent more officers on the streets of St Helier on Friday and Saturday nights due to shift rearrangements, but that the new law will make a real difference to dealing with rowdy and drunken behaviour.
