‘Let’s think about tax, key markets and education’

A CONFIDENT, profitable and busy year ahead was forecast this week at the annual general meeting for members of Jersey Finance Ltd.

The main promoter and representative of the Island’s financial services sector announced a number of new initiatives for 2006, including three new ‘think tanks’.

Addressing the lunchtime audience of 200 at the Hotel de France – including the Chief Minister Frank Walker, and Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf – JFL chief executive Phil Austin said 2005 had been a good year for the industry.

‘I’ve seen many of you prancing around St Helier with your bonus cheque in your back pocket – and I hope that our plans for this coming year capture that that optimism,’ he said.
