Move over, eBay!

FED up with charges, shipping costs and scams, two Islanders turned their back on eBay and set up their own online marketplace, exclusively for the Channel Islands.
And only four months after its inception, CIbay.
o.
k has been inundated with Islanders selling everything from unwanted Christmas presents to car parts.
Its creators, Chris Bee and Daren Wright, are confident that the Channel Islands’ first online marketplace will continue to grow.
Both keen eBay traders, Mr Wright and Mr Bee became acutely aware of the problems Islanders can have using online sites.
High shipping charges and the Island’s location make it difficult for residents in Jersey and Guernsey to buy and sell goods from and to the UK.
Mr Wright and Mr Bee thought that if there could be a site specifically for Channel Islanders, not only would buyers and sellers in many cases be able to exchange goods in person, but should there be a scam, it would be easier to resolve.
