New school in top form
Wednesday 1st March 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
THE new £14.5 million Le Rocquier School opened this morning with an inspirational speech from the head teacher.
Welcoming the students to what is the largest single structure in the Island, Richard Rolfe told them they must rise to the challenges and take the opportunities the new school presented.
Pupils Jack Griffin (11), Callum Tintley (12), Ashley Weeks (16) and Clare Hepburn (15) performed a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony during the first assembly.
An official opening ceremony will take place later in the year, once the third phase of the overall £23 million development is completed.
