Castle Quay: New tower plan
Friday 3rd March 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
DEVELOPERS Dandara are considering significantly cutting the height of two of their proposed towers on the waterfront – but still have a 20-storey building at the heart of the £120m Castle Quay development.
They say they are prepared to compromise to produce a world-class waterfront which the public of Jersey supports instead of a ‘Milton Keynes-by-the-Sea’.
A new model showing a ‘work in progress’ scheme of three towers of 20, 11 and nine storeys of residential and commercial accommodation will be on display at a public consultation meeting on the waterfront tomorrow.
The original and highly controversial scheme from architect Eric Kuhne, which Dandara released last year, had three towers of 20, 17 and 14 storey towers.
