Public have their say on future of the waterfront
Monday 6th March 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
TWO hundred people discussed the future of Jersey’s waterfront at a six-hour public forum at the Airport on Saturday.
And Islanders who did not take part are being encouraged to write to Planning with their opinions on the future of the site.
Organised by Environment Minister Freddie Cohen, the day was spent talking through Islanders’ hopes and dreams for the waterfront.
The public’s comments will now be analysed and incorporated into the planning guidance against which future planning applications for the site will be judged.
However, Save Jersey’s Heritage want to organise their own public meeting on the issue.
They say that Saturday’s forum did not include enough open discussion.
