Another Broad Street taxi saga – in Barbados

THERE are just some things about island life that never change.
There’s the sea, sand, weather, tourists – and the taxi drivers.
After the saga of the Broad Street redevelopment in town last summer, the government of Barbados has a protest on its hands from the capital’s taxi drivers, who are outraged at being moved from Broad Street.
Plans to redevelop Bridgetown’s Lower Broad Street has meant the taxi drivers would be forced from their usual spot in the centre of the town.
