Public invited to bid a farewell to Sir John
Monday 13th March 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
ISLANDERS are being invited to join in a public farewell to the Lieut-Governor, Air Chief Marshal Sir John Cheshire, and Lady Cheshire, when they leave the Island next month.
Following tradition, their departure takes place after a special meeting of the States on Friday 7 April at which the Governor will address the Assembly for only the second time, the first having been on his first appearance in the House five years ago.
Members of the public are being invited by the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, to gather in the Royal Square by 10 am to wish the Governor and Lady Cheshire well as they leave the States building and depart by car for the Airport.
