Center Parcs carry on with waterfront plans

PLANS to open a Center Parcs complex on the St Helier waterfront appear likely to go ahead, despite news last week that the listed company had agreed to a takeover by a private equity group.
The chief executive of Center Parcs, Martin Dalby, said: ‘As far as we are concerned it is business as usual, and we continue to believe that the Jardins de la Mer project in Jersey has the potential to deliver value to the shareholders in the long term.
Subject to planning permission, Center Parcs announced several months ago that they had agreed to take on a 21-year lease for a residential and leisure complex to be built on the Les Jardins site, which is owned by the David Crossland group of companies.
