Scott prepares for a peak performance
Wednesday 15th March 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
JERSEY-born DJ Scott Nixon is aiming high – with a one-off set in the Himalayas that is bound for the record books.
Tomorrow, the Jersey flag will fly over 4,000 miles away and 4,200 feet up as Scott – signed to major record label Fingerlickin’ – drops beats to the Pakistani prime minister in a Guinness World Record-breaking attempt.
Armed with a box of tunes and decks strapped to yaks, Scott will provide the soundtrack to the Pakistan Kite & Flight 2006 – the first winter sports event of its kind in the Himalayas – in an effort to set the record for the world’s highest altitude for a DJ set.
Along with raising Pakistan’s profile as a great spot for winter sports, the week-long event will also aim to help those affected by the Kashmir earthquake.
