Island première for Higgins play
Thursday 16th March 2006, 12:00AM GMT.
WALKING Wounded, the only stage play by best-selling author Jack Higgins, will receive its world première at the Jersey Arts Centre this month.
Set in a military rehabilitation unit shortly after the Falklands War, the play follows the progress of a small group of soldiers as they attempt to come to terms with both their physical and mental wounds.
The play, which is being staged by the Jersey Amateur Dramatic Club, directed by Jacqui Audrain, has already aroused considerable interest in the UK.
Critics from The Guardian and The Independent are coming to Jersey for the gala opening night as is Mr Higgins’s publisher Ed Victor and actor John Nettles.
