Voluntary promise sought on racial discrimination

MINISTERS are being asked to sign up to an anti-discrimination pledge for Jersey employers.
Although the Island has no discrimination or racial hatred legislation, the Jersey Community Relations Trust say a voluntary promise will allow companies to show they are prepared to stand up against discrimination.
JCRT acting chairman Nick Hutchinson said: ‘Although the Island does not have a discrimination law, we do not have to sit on our hands and wait for something to come along.
