Fire eaters and stilt walker on club menu
Tuesday 28th March 2006, 12:00AM BST.
LIQUID nightclub is to close this weekend for a £1.6 million make-over – and when the waterfront club reopens at the end of June party-goers can expect to see everything from hot tubs and fire eaters to stilt walkers and a moving stage.
Three rooms will divide the property – the Pre-Club room, Liquid and Envy – and one-off gay nights will be staged, as well as other themes and celebrity gigs, says general manager Allan Bale.
Mr Bale (30) has moved to the Island from Bahrain, where he ran nightclubs for Luminar, the company who run Liquid and neighbouring venues Chicago Rock and The Bar.
He said: ‘Liquid is only three years old but people get bored quickly.
Maybe those who came here when we opened have stopped coming.’
