Chief Minister supports colleague

SENATOR Frank Walker said Home Affairs Minister Wendy Kinnard still had his full confidence yesterday in spite of a highly critical report on the Prison.
The Chief Minister insisted that Senator Kinnard was taking steps to sort out problems at the jail.
He made his statement in the States in the wake of the second damning report of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons in five years.
The report found that many recommendations made in 2001 still had not been adequately acted upon.
Criticism arising from those apparent failings has put the spotlight on Senator Kinnard, who last week faced calls to resign from St Martin Deputy Bob Hill.
