Hedgehunter edged out of Grand National win

JERSEY resident Trevor Hemmings’ horse Hedgehunter could not match last year’s heroics by winning the Grand National – but he did come a close second.
He was edged out by Numbersixvalverde.
While much of Jersey was willing Hedgehunter on down the last few furlongs in support of Mr Hemmings – local bookmaker Neville Ahier was delighted to see him pipped at the last.
Mr Ahier said: ‘It would have been a financial disaster for us if he’d won.’
