Get me to the pub on time!
Tuesday 11th April 2006, 12:00AM BST.
THE Town House will host Jersey’s first ever pub wedding in August.
Sinéad Shortt and Denis Smith are to become the first couple in Island history to be united in matrimony – in a pub.
Bride-to-be Sinéad (34) is close friends with Martin and Jackie Kelly, who run the New Street venue.
She was due to marry former De La Salle student Denis (29) last year – but had to delay the event because of spiralling costs.
She said: ‘Jackie suggested I get married in the pub.
They applied for the licence especially for us.
It was granted and the rest is history.’
