Plans for National Lottery hit snags

PROBLEMS over redistributing UK National Lottery cash within Jersey are holding up its introduction in the Island.
But the Assistant Economic Development Minister, Alan Maclean, says he hopes to see the UK lottery extended to Jersey by 2008.
‘The intention is to move forward with introducing the UK National Lottery to Jersey, but there are a number of hurdles,’ he said.
‘We are probably in for a two- or three-year wait, but I am very enthusiastic about the likelihood of reaching an agreement.
We are working on how to get more money back to Jersey through funding.’
