Trust urges greater respect at work
Thursday 13th April 2006, 12:00AM BST.
A NEW era of respect and understanding was invited into Jersey’s workplaces today with the launch of the Jersey Anti-Discrimination Promise.
It is an initiative created by the Community Relations Trust, which was formed to eliminate discrimination, bullying and inequality, to celebrate the rich and diverse nature of the community.
In the absence of anti-discrimination legislation, the six-point pledge sets out a model on which to build a brighter and more inclusive future in the workplace.
Employers are being asked to sign up to the promise and display it on the walls of their premises.
The States, the Island’s largest employer, has already done so, along with the Guiton Group, the Co-op and the aMaizin Maze.
