DE-NOVA Blues, The Merge, The Valentines and Kudu secured the four local bands’ slots at this year’s Jersey Live after a closely fought final on Thursday night.

The Havana Club was packed for the four-hour event which saw local bands Benny The Moth, de-Nova Blues, The Absence, Zoohair, Von Papen, Coast 2 Coast, MooG, The Valentines, Ungenerics, Omerta, The Merge and Kudu compete to join Snow Patrol, The Zutons, Milburn and The On-Offs on the big stage for the Jersey Telecom sponsored festival on 2 September.

There were, however, problems outside the club when a number of ticket holders were refused entry on the door.

Family and friends who had come to see their sons and daughters play were among those left outside for around 45 minutes as the club operated a ‘one in, one out’ policy.

Refunds were given to those who would not wait – but they were not impressed.
