Post offices to sell Battle tickets
Saturday 22nd April 2006, 12:00AM BST.
BATTLE Bee has buzzed around Island post offices spreading his magic with the result that tickets for this year’s parade are now on sale in them for the first time.
Carnival organisers are delighted that Jersey Post have agreed that standing tickets for the main parade and the illuminated event on the Friday priced £5 may be sold at all 21 of their post offices and £10 seated pavement tickets at the main Broad Street branch.
There is no charge for accompanied children under 12 standing at both events.
Battle chairman Bob Pallot said it was wonderful news that thanks to Jersey Post tickets were now available so conveniently on an Islandwide basis.
‘By making it as easy to buy a Battle ticket as a stamp or postal order we really hope the people of Jersey will be tempted to rediscover the excitement of the Battle and spectacle of the illuminated event,’ he said.
