Residents out of top 100 richest
Saturday 22nd April 2006, 12:00AM BST.
THERE are no Jersey residents in the top 100 of the Sunday Times Rich List.
It is believed to be the first time since the newspaper started compiling its lists of Britain’s richest 18 years ago that no one from the Island features in the first 100.
But the Channel Islands’ richest were 26% richer than last year according to the the 2006 list, which will be published on Sunday.
It was Guernsey and Brecqhou residents rather than Islanders whose wealth grew most.
The combined wealth of the ten richest in the islands now totals £4,562m compared to £3,605m in 2005, a gain of £957m.
