French banking degree course for Jersey students
Monday 24th April 2006, 12:00AM BST.
FRENCH-speaking Jersey students are being offered places on a specialist degree course starting in Granville next year.
And, in a proposed reciprocal agreement with the Lycée Sevigne, French students could spend part of the two-year banking course working in Jersey.
Education Minister Mike Vibert welcomed the idea, as he said Education were looking for the best courses on offer as opposed to the location and they had already had talks with education authorities overseas as part of their review of further and higher education.
‘We are reviewing our further and higher education opportunities and we’re trying to get more opportunities for young people wherever the courses are on offer, and France is suitable because it is so near,’ he said.
