Protest in St Clement against 15 new homes
Friday 28th April 2006, 12:00AM BST.
ABOUT 80 St Clement residents staged a protest on the coast road yesterday evening against plans to build houses on a field behind Avalon Park.
The residents gathered to vent their frustration about over-development in the Island’s smallest parish in general and, in particular, plans to build 15 homes on Field 91.
The plans, which would create 38 bedrooms and 43 parking spaces, have been put forward by developer G R Langlois Ltd and will be presented to the planning applications panel on 4 May.
Protesters brought a large banner saying ‘Save Field 91′ and others held smaller placards.
Deputy Ian Gorst addressed the gathering and thanked the people for attending.
