Transport .in talks on .rickshaws

TWO potential rickshaw operators are in talks with the Transport department about setting up a service in Jersey.

However, legislation changes would have to be passed before they could trade here.

They have expressed an interest in running pedal-powered rickshaws round town, possibly at a fixed fare.

Transport Minister Guy de Faye says that Islanders are unlikely to be able to take rickshaws around town this summer, but he is working on enabling their introduction.
